MyCreativeLife is a creative self-management programme to accompany MyLifeTool. The twelve-week programme uses simple creative activities to support people with long-term conditions to reflect on their self-management journey.
Six sessions take place over a twelve-week period - one every two weeks. Each session is based on a different booklet from MyLifeTool and uses creative activities which are designed to support people to reflect on a specific issue, such as how they see themselves and how they interact with others.
Taking part in the programme may help people to improve their goal setting, encourage people to be kinder and less critical of themselves and give people the chance to share their experiences with others who understand what it is like to live with a long-term condition.
The programme does not rely on people being great artists and it does not require special equipment - paper and pencils are enough. Sessions can be supported by peer mentors - people with long-term conditions who know what it is like to live with these conditions.
We are creating a programme handbook and will be able to offer training sessions to practitioners and organisations who would like to run the programme with their clients. Alternatively, we can deliver the programme to your clients. More details about how to access the programme and training materials will be available here later in the year when we officially launch the programme. In the meantime, you may be interested in us running our online programme for members of your organisation.
For people who are interested in trying out some of these creative activities but who do not want to take part in the full programme, we have created activity sheets that people can work through themselves.
